Poison Oak!

Well, I have FINALLY had the privilege of getting poison oak. I am having a wonderful time with it! I recommend this experience to anyone who dare! Here are a few photos of my FUN! ENJOY!
As you can see from the photos, I am having some slight swelling in the right hand and wrist.  The bottom left photo is of my left forearm, and the bottom right is of my right thigh.
I have tried a few suggestions from friends of how to get rid of this NASTY stuff.  Well, lets just say that I am glad that it works for THEM.  I have purchased expensive medicine like Zanfel.  It costs around $30 to $40/oz.  I was REALLY hopeful that it was going to work for me.  Well, no worky. I also did the cortizone cream, it did nothing as well.  Then I got a little crazy with the bleach and...well...that just HURTS!  Then I finally broke down and went to see the PROFESSIONALS.  So that is where I am not, shot up with some steroids and creamed up too.  I will keep you posted on my status.  I hope to see this gone SOON!  Did I mention that my right wrist feels like a lizard's skin!  Really gross!

Spring Is Here!

Well, it is a beautiful sabbath day.  I took a few pictures with our D60 and captured some busy bees going at it.

My mother-in-law Carol, has her property really kept up and pretty.  The flowers are looking very nice.  Pretty soon she is going to have her garden growing with full force.  It is going to be great!

Long Day at Spring Creek Gardens

Well, I had a pretty long day at work today.  Started work at 7:00am and ended work at 7:00pm.  We had some pretty good sales today, thanks to the weather manager.  One nice thing about working late is the boss treats us to dinner.  The usual menu consists of either pizza (which is what we had tonight!), chicken or hamburgers.  All are excellent, and do the job well.  And as a bonus, it keeps the employees moral up.  Everyone LOVES food!

We are all hopeful for a VERY busy year.  We all want to see Spring Creek Gardens prosper.  You can check out our website here => .

Mommy at Women's Retreat

Well, it is just me (James) and the kids. Julie has left for womens retreat. Everything should go fine. At the very least, the kids and I will remain ALIVE until she returns. I think that is a good goal to shoot for!

Home Recording Studio

So Julie and I are venturing on to something new. We are going to attempt to record the songs that she wrote onto CD. So I went to a music store that sells everything a person needs to be a rock star, and I picked up a few things. The first thing a person needs is a mic to sing into. So the PVi2 was the one that I purchased for $50 to try out.
Then you need a basic mic stand, $40.
For Julies guitar I needed to buy a pickup, so I purchased the Dean Markley for $79.  So I tried recording with these items to my computer using the mic input, and had background noise.  Went back to the music store and they told me that it is probably my computers fault.  So of course they wanted to sell me yet another thing to get rid of the noise.
So I bought the PV6USB mixing board for $129.99.  The good thing is that it actually took the noise away, and I like it.  It seems to work great.  I can plug the mic and the pickup into it and still have room for two more things.  So once we get a song recorded I will try and post it somehow.
If anyone has a suggestion or two for me on recording music with my computer, please comment on this post.  Thanks!

Rain Rain Go AWAY!

Well, it has been raining for a week straight now!  It has been putting a damper on flower sales, but even still, things are still selling.  But definitely not as well as when the sun is shining.  God will provide all of my needs.  Life is GOOD!

The Family!

Here is the latest family picture.  Zion is almost 5 years old and Sophia is 2.5 years old.

Deer roaming in Sisters

I would love to live somewhere were we could have deer roaming around our property.  The only bad thing would be if I wanted to have a garden.  But I could probably control that by shooting one about once every 2 years.

A midwifes travels blogspot

My mother-in-law has a blog now where she is going to try to keep people informed about her mission trips and things going on in her life.  The address is .  For those that know her, it would be worth following her on it, to be kept updated on her life.

6th Wedding Anniversary!

Well, we are here in Sisters, Oregon again. We really enjoy the weather and beauty of this area. We stayed at a rental house on Toll Gate road just west of sisters again. This is the second time that we stayed at this house. Here is the site with the information for it. It is a REALLY cute house! . We like everything about this place except for the fact that it does have stairs that you have to walk up and down. But for $85/night it is a great place!
